Questions about big decisions

  • Should I rent or buy a home?

There’s no one right answer, it comes down to your numbers and your plans. Lever shows you what each one really costs, including the costs that don’t show up on the price tag, so you can compare them side by side.

  • How much rent can I afford?

A common rule of thumb is about a third of the money that actually lands in your account each month. Then check what’s left still covers everything else. Lever walks through it before you sign.

  • Can I negotiate my salary?

Often, yes, and it’s worth asking. Most big numbers have a person on the other side who can move them. Lever shows how to ask, and what to ask about.
